Charlotte, NC | Feb. 2017
Hi everyone! I’ve finally gotten around to posting again and I figured, what better way to get back into the swing of things than posting about one of my favorite cities!
This past weekend was filled with adventure and the best damn vanilla cappuccino I have ever had in my entire life. My amazing friends Mara and Kailee were with me which made it even better as I haven’t seen Kailee for a while and Mara is one of my favorite people on the planet. We arrived in Charlotte in the early evening with the intent to snap as many photos as we could and have coffee at a cute cafe (super basic, I know). Even though it was really cold out, we still enjoyed every second of our trip!
Before we reached the public market where we got some coffee and a delicious crêpe, there were plenty of opportunities to capture Charlotte’s urban beauty!
I had so much fun walking around and viewing Charlotte through a different lens. It’s amazing to experience new places and see what they had to offer. Cities have always fascinated me… they are so diverse and the bustle never stops. What I really liked about Charlotte was how un-crowded it was. I never felt suffocated, which is why I am not the biggest fan of NYC. Plus, Charlotte definitely smells better haha
When we found a cafe on Google, we didn’t realize it would be within a public market. So walking into a building with tons of different places to eat and what not was a bit overwhelming. The best way I can describe it is a “hipster foodcourt”. There was a cheese shop, cold pressed juice stand, crêpes, pizza, other bits and bobs, and the tiny little café bar.
Let me tell you… it was the best damn coffee I have ever gotten in my life. The second that cappuccino hit my lips I swear I thought I was in heaven. If you are ever in Charlotte, you NEED to stop by the 7th Street Public Market and sit at the “Not Just Coffee” bar. The baristas were super nice and the atmosphere was so quaint, even though they are within a large space. Here’s a link to the market’s website: http://www.7thstreetpublicmarket.com/
After filling our bellies with much needed caffeine and a Nutella crêpe, we headed out in search for a place to eat dinner. Charlotte has so many options and I don’t know how we were able to choose! We finally decided to walk through the Epicenter, a place filled with tons of restaurants, and found the Blackfinn Ameripub. It was such a great choice and I highly recommend it! Although I didn’t snap any photos while we were eating (it was nice to set aside the electronics and catch up with each other), the food was beautiful and you’ll have to take my word for it! We ordered blackened brie as our appetizer (fancy, I know) and it was of course delicious. For my main meal I ordered a margarita flatbread with added chicken… ugh just thinking about it now makes me hungry. I don’t know if it was because I was on such a high of happiness that I was spending time with my friends or what but everything that day tasted so good.
This day will forever be stored in my mind as one of the best days I’ve had. I cannot wait to revisit Charlotte! I was so sad to leave and will be planning another trip very soon.
I hope you all enjoy living vicariously through my adventures and I hope to have more for you soon!!
